What you don't see is the fawn that ran across the road. Rocky spotted the deer and stopped the car, then turned off the engine. The doe then came out in the middle of the road and stopped. Seconds later, her baby darted across the street. She stood there until the fawn was out of sight. Then, when she knew it was safe, she darted as well.
This was one of the few nights I did not have a camera that shoots video with me. I only had the iPhone. Don't think I'm not pissed Steve Jobs didn't include a video option.

I am on the hunt for the perfect travel camera. I know what you're probably
thinking: "Why isn't that just your iPhone?" That's a good question.

Good job Mama deer, guarding the road so well! What a lucky encounter. No time now, but remind me to tell you about my magical baby deer encounter sometime.

Do tell!
One morning Tall One and I were in the car, very early. It was foggy and cool, and we had the windows down. A fawn, alone, walked out to the road. I thought it was a dog at first, but then we could see. I stopped the car and we listened to the little clicks of her hooves on the pavement, and then she was gone. No Momma in site made me worry for her, they don't just leave them.
Reading about your adventures has been such a treat!!! Road trips are the best! All my love to Rocky and the kids!
Steph... glad you're enjoying it. We are too!
