This Is Colorado?

In stark contrast to the drive West of Denver, the drive Northeast toward Nebraska does not hold a surprise around every curve. In fact, there are very few curves. This is a 30 second video. If you'd like to relive the drive yourself, just play it 240 times and you'll get a good feel. :)

This video does not have sound.

I Don't Have A Clue Where This Is

All I know is that it is somewhere between Eagle and Denver. I've driven this road many times, but each time I snap literally hundreds and hundreds of photos. It just seems that every turn presents one miracle after another.

Beautiful vistas, like the next one. Luckily, I know this one is Frisco, CO.

I-70 from Glenwood Springs to Denver

This is simply one of the most beautiful drives in the country.

We've driven the road to Hana on Maui, Highway 1 up the California coast and all over Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont in peak leaf season. Each of those are awe inspiring in their own way and this drive is as well. These short video don't begin to do it justice.

There is no sound in this video.

Mariana Wagner And Denver Traffic

We had lunch to day with a friend from ActiveRain, Mariana Wagner.

Mariana set up a lunch date with us at Beau Jo's Colorado Pizza. (Great pizza by the way.) It's always so nice to meet someone you've developed a relationship with on the Internet. It's like meeting an old friend for the first time. :) I still can't believe that husband of hers decided to go to a closing instead of eating lunch with us. I'm sure we had a better time.

It was great to meet her and her two sons. Now, what was NOT so great was the ridiculous traffic we ran into as a result of our detour South of Denver. Who knew Denver had such horrific traffic. It was like being back in Los Angeles. There was no accident... just traffic. It took us 40 minutes to go 13 miles. Nice!

So, we're a bit behind schedule now, but at least I've got a broadband signal.

Mariana, thanks for setting up the lunch!

If It Keeps Her Happy...

It doesn't matter where we go, if there are rocks near the water, Rocky builds. It calms her. :)

On The Way To Glenwood Springs

7:13 And Everyone Is Still Sleeping

Our kids are human alarm clocks.

They almost never sleep past 6am. So, we almost never have to set an alarm. I don't have the heart to wake everyone up to start our journey today. We've got lunch plans today in Denver, which is 250 miles away and we MUST stop at our favorite rest area just east of Glenwood Springs. So, Mariana, we may be a little late. :)
