The World's Largest Truckstop

I can't believe I forgot about this.

Every cross country trip needs a "world's largest something" photo. Our something is The World's Largest Truckstop. :)

Iowa Is A Beautiful State

I've flown into Iowa many tmes, but never driven across.

I think I assumed it was table top flat just like Kansas, but it's not. It's rolling hills are almost constant and the farms are like postcards.

The iPhone Hunt Is Over

I got the last 8 Gig iPhone left at the AT&T store outside Des Moines. I'll report back. :)

The iPhone Hunt Is On

The first AT&T store I called in Des Moines was sold out of iPhones.

But I found one on the outskirts, just off of I-80 that has some in stock. We're still 60 miles away, so I'll call again when we're closer to see if it's worth getting off the freeway. :)

Welcome To Iowa, Boys And Girls

We're always excited when we can introduce the kids to a new state.

They had never been through Nebraska or Iowa, so it's a big party in the car when it happens. I don't know how much they really care, but we hope they do. One of the reasons we do this drive each year is so they can have an appreciation for the beauty and the scale of this great country.

We were happy to get an invite (actually I think we invited ourselves) from Julie Ferenzi to stay at her house in Plainfield, Illinois. It gave us an excuse to take a new route East. So, they can now say they've been to Iowa!

This is the Missouri River that marks the border of Nebraska and Iowa.
