Welcome To Iowa, Boys And Girls

We're always excited when we can introduce the kids to a new state.

They had never been through Nebraska or Iowa, so it's a big party in the car when it happens. I don't know how much they really care, but we hope they do. One of the reasons we do this drive each year is so they can have an appreciation for the beauty and the scale of this great country.

We were happy to get an invite (actually I think we invited ourselves) from Julie Ferenzi to stay at her house in Plainfield, Illinois. It gave us an excuse to take a new route East. So, they can now say they've been to Iowa!

This is the Missouri River that marks the border of Nebraska and Iowa.
