Portraits Of A Dying City #1

Grafton, West Virginia was once a thriving city.

Steve Shaluta has an amazing gallery of historical photos from Grafton's hay day. Today, Main Street is empty and the buildings are modern ruins. This is going to be the first of many photo posts showing some of the decay. It's sad, but made sadder by how much beauty surrounds the city.

Photo made from three iPhone photos, Calico and two basic Picnik.com filters.

Whoa - What's up with the funky paint job?

That's my "artistic" impression. The building is indeed very blue, but not that exact color. I'm trying something out... boosting the color to see how all of the dying building look in a different light.
